The Blue Grass Brunch at Loretta’s Last Call on Lansdowne Street in Boston’s Fenway Park area, is the Boston blue grass brunch I have been looking for since news of the closing of two of my favorite brunches, The Blue Room and East Coast Grill.
Not only does Loretta’s Blue Grass Brunch have amazing live music, a super cool atmosphere, amazing drinks (I had two, I never have two drinks), but it also has delicious and unique brunch menu choices.
It was hard to choose from this brunch menu, with options ranging from the southern tradition of biscuits and gravy, to the twisted and intriguing pulled pork and jalapeno fritatta. The choice that wasn’t hard, starting with these INCREDIBLE bacon jam biscuit dumplings.
For the main course, I went with the house smoked turkey and sweet potato hash, accompanied by a Bubbly Blueberry Smash, a delicious concoction of blueberry moonshine, elderflower liqueur, cranberry juice, muddled moonshine blueberries, splash of champagne.
My partner ordered the traditional Breakfast Plate, two eggs, home fries, toast, grits and bacon. I’m not gonna lie, I didn’t even let him have a bite of his own grits, they were sooo good!
By this point, we were thoroughly stuffed with southern goodness, and couldn’t take another brunch bite. Until we were presented with this bacon, maple waffle sundae with bourbon whipped cream. I’m pretty sure I don’t have to tell you how this was…
Thank you Loretta’s Last Call Blue Grass Brunch! Thank you for coming to my attention just as my old favorites are leaving me. You have won a place at the top of my favorite brunch in Boston list!
